Prohibition was repealed in 1933. More than 75 years later, Coloradans are still prohibited from buying real, full-strength beer in locations other than liquor stores. Convenience stores and grocery stores are legally prohibited from selling real beer and are require to sell only the outdated, obsolete 3.2 percent beer. Colorado consumers are increasingly rejecting 3.2 percent beer, with Sunday sales of 3.2 beer dropping more than two-thirds since liquor stores started opening on Sunday in 2008. Colorado is one of only five states that continue to require the sale of Prohibition-era 3.2 percent beer. It’s time to GET REAL! The Colorado Legislature is considering a bill that will allow you to buy real beer at Colorado convenience and grocery stores. But your voice, as a Colorado consumer, is needed NOW to end Prohibition once and for all and give you the choices you deserve. Click on Get The Facts to learn more about this issue.
